Alberto Falcone (BMG)

You wait several years to paint yourself a BMG Sidekick, then three come along seemingly at once! Alberto Falcone is a character who first surfaced in The Long Hallowe'en Batman story, and is a very recent addition to the BMG range.

I have been working on another mini (Damian Wayne) but stalled over some of the fiddly bits of painting that one, so decided I need to get something finished really quickly or risk hitting another slump.Looking in the painting queue I saw Falcone who I reckoned I could get finished quickly, and thankfully I was correct. A couple of brief painting sessions over the course of a day got him done, so I am very happy about that.

Alberto Falcone is part of the Organized Crime crew, but this does not mean I am embarking on Organized Crime any time soon, it was simply expedient to paint him up. He seems a decent and sneaky threat on the table, especially to more vulnerable Leaders with his Assassin Trait offering up extra Victory Points.

BMG Painting Summary
BMG characters owned: 280 (added: forgot to include the Batmobile in my last update)
Percentage of owned characters painted: 23.2% (65 models)

  1. Nice work on the suit, another character I'm embarrassed to admit I hadn't heard of before reading this.

    1. Thanks Michael. :0

He is definitely a little more obscure character in the Batman mythos.

  2. A simple yet striking character.
The simplicity makes it easy to overlook or even forget him, but it also makes him look exactly as he should be.

  3. Top work PulpCitizen. I think this was one of the new "BMG" sculpts I saw at "Salute" and recoiled in horror at the price? Lovely subtle shading on the suit,

    1. Thanks for the kind words about the painting mate. :)

Regarding the price, I cannot disagree at all - I do not think there is any way in which it is justifiable. For me it is one of my beloved four IPs, coupled with my collecvror mentality, so I am hooked in - I do think they will have a sharp surprise because i cannot see how sales will not shrink in some way following a 15%-25% rise depending on retailer, and what is the third notable price rise in two years.

    2. Well its price, and that of "Darkseid" etc certainly stopped me buying them at "Salute" and dispelled any notion I had of picking some up; especially Darkseid's stuff as I've always been a fan of his. What with Marvel's sudden departure from their line, and this huge price rise, I'm not sure what "KM" are up to?

    3. Again, I can only agree - there seems little plan or strategy to KM's approach, and honestly I think their cash-grab sales ploys and change of stance on 'exclusives' means they are struggling at least a little for cash-flow.

With my random approach to things who knows what will be finished next!

  5. Very well done indeed. He's a unique character and so 'normal' (as in not super hero-like) that it's to your credit that you made the figurine look good despite his 'normalcy'. Sorry if I'm not making much sense. :)

    1. Thanks FourEyedMonster. :)

My next one will also probably be a more 'normal' character. :)
