First 10 G.I. Joes

These are my first ten 'enlisted' G.I. Joes, although these are actually my first eleven G.I. Joe characters thanks to Timber. I think going forward I will try and do updates for every ten additional characters, and will count the animal companions into that, otherwise it will get confusing for me let alone for unfortunate readers!

Sgt. Slaughter was painted in 2016,  kicking things off, but the rest have been painted in the last few months as the project heats up.

Now on to the next ten! Yo Joe!

  1. Really? Only 11 painted "G.I. Joe" minis? It seems that you've been churning them out for ages in mind for ages... Does that mean there's hope yet for me to catch-up ;-) Top stuff, my friend, and they look awesome together with your basing method :-)

There are another 5 Cobra characters painted of course, but I am further along with my Joes so far. :)

    1. Thanks. :)

I have written my own set of rules which are a 'generic' rules set (Squad Wars) but can be used with them other military-action sets of minis. :)

  3. Fantastic group shot pulpcitizen ... together they look even better. Well arranged too I must day. Their poses suit the positions they are in. Nice!

    1. Thanks FourEyedMonster - more luck than judgement on the positioning! :)

  4. They're wonderful, I love 'em.

Not sure how I lived unaware of your G.I. Joe project for so long! If there is one miniatures dream I harbor that is not fulfilled by the miniatures available, it is G.I. Joe.

I guess I was aware of the Brummie side of the project from years ago but hadn't checked in in awhile.

I read through previous posts and I may have sped by it, but I didn't see you calling out where these figures are coming from, except for the Short Fuze figure. Really want to see pics of the conversions and details (if conversions).

I did see some manufacturer a set of close matches a short while back. Maybe the shipwreck is from that set? I managed to hold off on those as I have too many projects to go whole hog making conversions and ten figures just wouldn't satisfy me.

I need to say my own dream is a little specific and has almost no chance of becoming a reality. I want HO or 1:72 scale figures, and I need a manufacturer to commit and make a big range in hard plastic. I need the vehicles and to model the modern world the way I would want (for example Americana neighborhoods) to harness the train world offerings.

At any rate, I'll live vicariously awhile following your own project.

    1. Thanks very much Ryder. :)

The project is using minis from a number of sources as you can see from the latest post (Helix), as well as the likes of Hotwire etc.

If you are on Facebook or Lead Adventure Forum (LAF), look me up. :)
